Recently, we had the pleasure of transforming a set of oak wardrobes for our client in Berkhampsted. The original oak finish was not to their liking, so they opted for a fresh new look by painting them. After careful consideration, they chose Farrow & Ball’s Cornforth White in an eggshell finish, a decision that beautifully complements the aesthetics of their home.
Cornforth White is known for its soft, understated elegance, making it an ideal choice for furniture. This particular shade offers a subtle gray hue that enhances the natural beauty of the wood while providing a modern twist. The eggshell finish adds a slight sheen, ensuring the wardrobes not only look stunning but are also durable and easy to maintain.
The painting process involved meticulous preparation to ensure a smooth application. We lightly sanded the surfaces to create a perfect base for the paint, followed by priming to enhance adhesion and durability. Once prepped, we applied 2 undecoats coats of Cornforth White, allowing each layer to dry thoroughly before procecceding.Then finaly applying a top-coat of eggshell finish.The client has sent the original handles off to be powder coated in a black leathered look finish.
The final result was a stunning transformation that breathed new life into the wardrobes. Our client was thrilled with the outcome, noting how the new color scheme seamlessly blended with their existing decor. This project exemplifies how a simple change in colour can make a significant impact on the overall ambiance of a space, proving that even furniture can be revitalised with creativity and care.
