Our recent kitchen cabinet painting project in Benfleet involved a stunning transformation of a kitchen that was originally cream. The client opted for Farrow & Ball’s Selvedge, a beautiful blue tone that brings a fresh and modern feel to the space.
Selvedge is known for its laid-back vibe, reminiscent of high-quality denim, and is particularly effective in low-light areas, making it ideal for kitchens. This shade creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, enhancing the kitchen’s functionality while also making it a cosy gathering spot for family and friends.
The process began with careful preparation of the surfaces, ensuring a smooth application. We applied a primer suitable for mid-tone colours, followed by two coats of Selvedge undercoat and finished with one coat of eggshell.
The result is a soft yet vibrant blue that not only brightens the room but also complements the kitchen’s fixtures and decor beautifully.
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, Selvedge pairs well with darker accents, allowing for creative decor options. The kitchen now exudes a sense of calm and sophistication, showcasing how a simple colour change can dramatically alter the ambience of a space.
