A Cottage Transformation

Location: Danbury, CM3 Essex

We were recently called in to carry out a full decorating job on a lovely cottage in Danbury, Essex.

The client chose Farrow and Ball Rectory Red as their preferred colour, which to be honest was a hard colour to apply. In the end we needed to apply a total of 4 coats of Rectory Red over the existing wall colour to get good coverage and a finish we were happy with. Sometimes colour choices give great results and just the right look and feel for a room, but need a lot more work.

We got there in the end as we always do. The client and myself were very happy with the completed job.

Rectory Red. This rich clean red is named after the charming village houses built over the years for the clergy. Rectory Red is a blackened and aged version of Blazer and feels much more sophisticated, especially when contrasted with Red Based Neutrals such as Joa’s White. It is a warming colour which will intensify when used in a small space to create the most welcoming of rooms.
